It works very reliably when in 'desktop/clampshell mode' and when in normal laptop mode connected to the charger. My pristine and babied 2016 15' MacBook Pro has been exhibiting a weird behavior for a while now where it will end up restarting itself and displaying the 'Your Mac Restarted Because of a Problem' screen a few second after the screen goes to sleep.
